A review site for the unlisted

Having published my first game on the App Store, Bumpin, I've had this feeling of being such a small drop in a very large bucket. Most people get one sweet taste of Apple list glory when they first release their app and then it's gone. If you don't get featured, your app most likely languishes in obscurity. The only real way to get it noticed is by having people (other than your immediate friends and family) talk about it. It seems like the best way is to get it reviewed. Sadly, most of those sites are so inundated with requests for reviews that they ask you to pay for it.

There's this whole gatekeeper and consolidation of power going on. If you're on a list in the app store, the fact that you're on the list pretty much keeps you there. There's no reason that Angry Birds needs to be on any list at this point. If you don't know about Angry Birds, someone will surely tell you about it.

How many good games are languishing in obscurity because of a lack of marketing and advertising money? I'm going to create a site that only reviews games that aren't on a list. If the site actually takes off and allows one of those games to get on a list, then that game will get removed from my list. Perfect, right?
